Open Meeting of South Region Umpires for Rules Change-over

Mark your calendar to attend the south regional MBUA rules differences presentation on Tuesday November 12th at 6:30pm at Bridgewater-Raynham High School. This meeting is open to all CCBUA umpires. Your attendance is highly encouraged.

Below is the content of the announcement:

Dear MBUA board leaders,

I want to share a few updates regarding the roll-out of NFHS rules transition plan and a few important upcoming dates.

As you know, the Baseball rules committee has been meeting since last December to recommend rules and craft an education plan for umpires and coaches. I am pleased to report your MBUA was very well represented on this committee.

We (MIAA baseball rules sub-committee) recently held a meeting (Oct. 16th) specifically for MBUA board leaders to preview and gain feedback on the instructional presentation of playing rules differences between MLB and NFHS. Special thanks to Joe Peters for his tremendous efforts to prepare and present the package. I believe all of our member boards were represented.

Phase two of the roll-out includes regional meetings for which ALL MBUA umpires are invited and encouraged to attend and see the presentation first-hand. This is a tremendous opportunity for all of our members to see and hear the presentation and ask questions to the presenters that have created the presentation.

We encourage ALL MBUA umpires to attend one of these four regional meetings:

SOUTH: Tuesday November 12 at Bridgewater-Raynham at 6:30pm

NORTH: Wednesday November 13 at Stoneham HS at 6:30

CENTRAL: Wednesday November 13 at Shrewsbury at 6:00

WEST: Thursday November 14 site at Holyoke HS at 6:30

Following these meetings, the entire presentation package will be available for board interpreters and members to download directly from the MIAA.net baseball page to begin your individual board’s training program.

I hope to see you at one of these regional meetings.

Mike Rabideau

President -MBUA
