MIAA Baseball Registration and Background Check is Open

CCBUA members are encouraged to register now for the 2016 Baseball season and complete the new background check requirements with the MIAA. Registration for spring 2016 sports is open now and will close on January 1, 2016. If you are not registered, you will not be eligible for the post season tournament. Also, as stated by the MIAA, most member school conferences have requested that their assigners only use these approved officials for regular season games.

Peter Hall named 2015 James McNally recipient

In recognition of his significant contributions to the CCBUA and its members, Peter Hall has been named 2015 James McNally Award recipient.

The award is bestowed upon a CCBUA Member in good standing that exemplifies these characteristics :

  • A role model with a positive demeanor and professional attitude regarding the highest standards in officiating on and off the field.
  • One held in high esteem by his colleagues and associates.
  • An individual continually striving to develop their umpire skills and master the rules of baseball and their application impartially.
  • Unselfishly dedicates his efforts towards fellow umpires in an effort to benefit their understanding and perception of Baseball.

NEBUC training sessions on Cape

CCBUA members are invited to attend Bill McCallum’s New England Baseball Club training sessions being held Wednesday May 27th (Balls and Stikes) and Wednesday June 3rd (Maintaining Order). Sessions are free to CCBUA members. Both sessions beging at 6:30pm at the Barnstable Police department community room
