The Cape Cod Baseball Umpires Association presented it’s highest honor to longtime member John Teehan Sunday at its 2017 banquet.

Mark Delaney was eloquent in his introduction of Teehan saying ” John over his 25 plus years of umpiring has truly demonstrated & in my belief exemplifies the bedrock tenets of what the McNally is all about. Over the years John has gained the admiration & respect of fellow umpires, game assignors & yes even coaches for his on & off the field professionalism as well as his keen sense, knowledge & understanding of the game of baseball and his steadfast principles to fair play as well as his passion & zeal to share his wisdom & experiences with others, which transcends far beyond the playing fields and reflects an unobstructed view & unquestioned example of John’s character not only towards this game we also hold dear to us and John’s love & loyalty to family, friends community & country.”

Teehan now joins Doug Mason and Peter Hall as the only recipients of this prestigious award.
